Some rules and tips that will make DogFighting enjoyable for all of us.

Hello people, recently I have played with some of the more experienced DogFighters, (kruncher, CreamSoda, Killerdude, Abister, Timber, ETC) and I have come up with some ideas that make dogfights more fun and thrilling for all of us.
 
-----Here we go-----
 
(1)
Jumbo Jet settings are a no-go.
If you are hosting a  DF server, then please turn up the speed and manuverabilty of the buggies, fast-paced DogFights are more interesting than SnailFights, if it is too hard for some players, then enable Laser Lock( putting it in the middle will do, you want to give people a chance, but not give them the game.)    
 
(2)
Make sure it is a dogfight, ground n00bs are boring, if you MUST land, refrain from shooting. HOWEVER, if the quarry is racing along the ground in an attemt to break the land speed record, then by all means, use whatever you can to gain the Quarry, then return to the air.
 
(3) 
Choose worlds that are good for DogFighting, (I particularly like Vengance Armada).
You get more dogfighting in and less groundn00bing out.
 
(4)
Keep the chatter down, your not going to get to be quarry if you are constantly chatting, if you need to say something, an exclamatory sentence like "gothcha" or "snipe!" will do. Facebook is for chatter, Mars Explorer is for LaserTag.
 
(5) 
If you want to keep N00bs out, then make the game private, it just makes kids angry if they are being booted for not being skilled enough, Also, if you have certain preferances for your Server, use the Welcome Message to make them known, this means you won't have jet n00bs complaining constantly about disabled vehicles.
 
(6)
If a player is obnoxious, give them a warning and if they continue then boot 'em(the Three Strike Rule works well for this). If they return, and want to play some more than give them one more chance, then ban them if they continue being a pain. Tell them they are being banned and why they are being banned
then ban them.
 
(7)
If a player wishes to remain anonymous, let them be, if it annoys you, then shoot the ____ out of them.

A NOTE TO MODS:
 
I would prefer this to be sticky as newbies to the fourum can read it and know what to expect in a dogfight.

Nice post, this is quite useful to read, and it's nice how you gave a few URLs of nice dogfighting worlds :) (even better two of those worlds are AbiPan worlds :P)

I doubt this will get stickied though, since this doesn't really serve any purpose to others but the newbies, and besides, mods only ever sticky their own stuff.

Good guidelines for a basic fight.
 
Note: You want slower agility and flight speed against certain players.
 
Freestyle is a quick and easy dogfight map.

Hmm, I'll agree with you on everything except two things. 
Ground shooting, why not? Sometimes you can shoot better on the ground.
Defaulted settings work great.

Ground shooting at dogfighters is kinda cheap shooting, just fly level and straight in the air

not exactly. since on the ground youre usually slower than the flight, it makes you a sitting duck, with a jet, i could EASILY own a player on the ground. and the jet is very fast and manuverable(unless your in my server, then it flies normally) and extremly hard to hit. it is not a cheap shot, it is a luck/awesome shot

I think these rules are awesome! I really appreaciate you making this, except, we have our tastes on the first one, I like jumbo jets, and medium speed and agility, but not super fast. You guys may think differently, but we all have our ways, right? All and all, I give this a 10 out of 10. :D
