I've wondered this for quite some time...

Hey, hey!

Here's a question that I've had in me ol' noggin' for quite some time.

"Is sniping considered n00bish?"

I've played games in the past where we would have intense laser-tag, and I would find a cozy little nook where I would be safe, and would pick off the flying quarry, or a running straggler once I had quarry.

Some people have told me not to do it, others didn't care. I know it's a no-no in dogfights, but I need to know if it's safe to do in other games? (No, I don't use the Tank like that.)

Thanks in advance for your input,

Personaly I think it is ok when not in a dogfight, I can't see why it would be frowned upon?? But thats just me :D

I agree with etah, as I find it easier somtimes to just camp and wait for the quarry. I don't see why there should be a problem.

Sniping is not considered noobish given that you are in the air.

If you are on the ground, it IS considered noobish to shoot at airborne targets. Sit-and-shoot is a tactic that is highly frowned upon.

But sniping from the air defeats the purpose!

I'm not saying in a dogfight, but sniping any target, land or air, in a non-dogfight server.

Sorry, just wanting some clarity!

Thanks, all, for your input!

i think it kind of depends.  if you ever played CoD, you know that campers and sniping n00bs are like a huge annoyance.  but then again some times if ya no scope then its pretty epic.  (getting off topic here)

a general rule of thumb, i think, is dat you dont wana snipe while on the ground, moving less than 30 MPH if everyone fighting for the quarry is dogfighting.

but if like they are all on the ground shooting each other then that seems ok.

(i dont really know.  this is some deep discussion/debate that we are getting into) lol :P

I wouldn't consider sniping n00bish if you're in the air. You can be sniping while moving, if you have mayjah skillz. Camping is NOT ok.

I think sniping is OK as long as it is only used sparingly, and not in a dogfight.

I am a sniper, but I move. I'm against campers when there's a dogfight, but other than that, it's fair game.

To me snipping isn't noobish. Aubrey made it so we could hit long distance.

Sniping in a dogfight is ok. You are fighting in a fair style, are you not?

In general, sniping from the ground if everyone else is in the air will be frowned upon, since it's not very fair. Otherwise, sniping is fine! Being a good sniper is an excellent quality. ;)

I snipe from the ground, (or on a mountainside) when it's a ground/air/sea battle. When in a dogfight, I only snipe from the air.

Just some clarification.

Sniping is NOT considered no0bish. Debating whether or not sniping is no0bish is no0bish. If you think sniping is remotly no0bish, you really need to get your freaking head on streight. Sniping is apart of EVERY fps shooter. If you don't know what a fps is, or if you think it's unfair for somebody to shoot you from far away, you need to stop playing any video game what so ever, go take a ride in your hummer, swim in your pool, and maybe grow older. Whether you like it or not, there is a gun on the hovercraft, on the jet, on the tank, and, get this, even the buggy. This means there is going to be sniping. Plus, trying to snipe someone who is flying around from far away is talent! I can't believe you guys are debating this.
