Hello, everyone! As you may or may not have already seen, Aubrey has released the sourcecode of Mars Exporer, thanks to the valiant efforts of Eric, and others! But most importantly, it was Aubrey's general kindhearted self who decided to release this. For that I am truly thankful.

Now, this brings up some AMAZING possibilities! I am finally able to do something which I have been wanting to do for a VERY long time. Starting form here on out, I will be devoting my time to the further development of Mars Explorer, and I welcome others to join me! Send ideas, evaluate ideas, even send source code or models! After due process of evauluation by the community, ANYTHING could be added, and by YOU!
I will take up the role of prime developer. I'll make sure that code that goes in is cohesive and works well with everything else. YOU will be prime designer. You will make sure that what I add is what you want.
Of course, my efforts do not stop anyone else from making their own spin offs of mars! However, I will personally endeavor to create a spinoff which is OPEN to community improvment.
One of my wanted tasks will be to COMPLETELY redo Mars's Networking system and move networking hosting away from Mars Explorer's original host solution. However, I'd like to hear the opinion of this -- Especially Aubrey's! My reasons, mainly, are due to the instability of the Unity networking solution -- I have tried many times to get a successful built running on my servers, to no avail. Aubrey, however seems to have a great solution going, but I don't want to impede. There is also the issue of certain members complaining of networking faultiness -- I am not 100% sure if this has to do with the networking system, or mars its self. Sticking to the current networking system leaves a much higher risk that these bugs are here for good. However, god knows what kind of new bugs owuld arise wit ha new networking system. Thoughts would be appreciated!
All of that set aside, my first goal is to get a simple test build going with a few new features to prove this is for real :)
