Hello Mars Community,

I will probably upgrade to Yosemite today. I will try to play on my Windows PC (full details here) but I won't be as good. Mars is a great game but dying. I have not been on lately and probably won't be very often. Thanks for the ride!

Yosemite isn't worth it unless you have a really new computer. My higher-end 2009 MBP is running a lot slower since the update, and doesn't look to be returning to normal any time soon.

I have a 2 year old MacBook Air with a i5 and 4GB of Ram, I think it will be good. What do you think?

That does seem to be the standard of Apple products, a new software update always makes it slower. My iPad 2 ran perfect on iOS 7 but running iOS 8 makes it slow as crap. I am not a big fan of Apple products, but I use a Mac because I love Final Cut Pro.

You should do a fresh install. After that it should be faster. Also if you have less than 4GB ram you really should install more.

I upgraded and it works great. I can't install more Ram, I have a Air.

Have you tried Mars Explorer 3? It works on Mavericks and Yosemite.

Yes, although I haven't upgraded to Mavericks or Yosemite yet. I have tried it on my Mac that runs Lion for now. I liked it alot, just wish there were more people on it. Maybe I can help you spread the word?

Yosemite is just like Mavericks under the hood, so the performance will be almost the same. Most of the changes are on the surface.
