Don't leave!! :(
Submitted By Lamp on 15/06/11
Mars Explorer, Lamp, Discussions

I made a new site to replace this site, and it was going great, and Mars Explorer had a future, and we would keep on talking. Then Aubrey comes to put a link to my site on the homepage. Woo hoo! Now it's bound to here and people will go there. Great! But he also puts Plexpedia into "archive mode", releases ATI server as open-source, etc, etc, and writes a Farewell.

Yes, of couse he will close systems up here, because we are moving to a new site and we need to close up the old site. But he also says goodbye. And at the same time, everyone else seems to be saying goodbye too. So, instead of being optimistic and migrating to the new site (which is also for War Thunder which many around here are playing so why aren't they there?), people apparently are leaving with this place.

Are you? Are you all going? Please don't go! We have a future! The new site is not only for Mars Explorer, it is also for War Thunder players! And many who played Mars Explorer are playing War Thunder now! So why don't you go there? War Thunder forums are a huge sea of mess and nobody can form a congregation, so that is the whole point of the new site. A congregation for the Martians who are playing War Thunder now too.

And Terrium is going to be released soon! Maybe our new site would merge with the new site, and we will all be united in one place! The one place for all of us, whether we play Mars Explerer, War Thunder, Sky Raiders: Storm Gamblers, Terrium, Carbon Combat, Bitfighter, Minecraft, Xmoto, or whatever!

"Lamp your like a lost soul that attached itself to an abandoned building." I notice that you're still hanging about. ;)

Besides, what Lamp is doing is about community not any specific game.

I really really like your idea, i even LOVE it!! but this won't work, on the chat you've been saying that we may could make one amazing game with; war thunder, carbon combat, minecraft,... but uhh, HOW?! 1) carbon combat isn't open source, you can't remake it. 2) War Thunder also, we don't have the "script" 3) Minecraft?! for real, that isn't gonna work. that's copying an already existing game, that (i think) is illegal...
your idea is great but impossible...

btw, that site, can you put that link here, please? i'm gonna register ^_^ :D

Lol no...

There wouldn't be much elements from War Thunder because War Thunder is purely a WW2 game. The only ideas that may come from War Thunder is a jets/planes and tanks gamemode. So pardon War Thunder.

For Carbon Combat, if Achilles is a developer of the company, he would allow the company to use Carbon Combat or code from it however they want. But if not, that is not a problem. The company could still implement ideas similiar to Carbon Combat. I'm sure Carbon Combat is not the only combat game with cars and guns and bodykits and a world maker.

For Minecraft, no, it would not be illegal. Look at all the "clones" of Minecraft, that copy it very closely. Look at minetest and Terraria.
But in this big game, the "Minecraft" element would be very different than the original Minecraft. It would not be blocky, it would be more realistic. So there will be absolutely no conflicts because it would be very different, it could have even been based of a different game.

Hmm, okay I think Mars Explorer is dead...

However I do like your idea! But how would we create our own version of Minecraft? Let alone I'm still trying to find time to make my own game someday.  But I do like the new forum, and it would be cool to have a forum of the mars explorers that play WarThunder.

It's a complicated idea but it's possible!

Well no, not exactly "Our own version of Minecraft" but rather It would be part of the big game. So like, you go to spawn, and you switch to an android, and the android has abilities to pick up stuff and build stuff. Not only walk around. So the android would be like the player in minecraft, just not blocky.

But of course, it would be a big big game, and it would take time. First the company would need to form and we'd get lots of developers, so the game gets more development, making more money, getting more developers to make more development, to make more money, etc, etc, etc.

and it would be cool to have a forum of the mars explorers that play WarThunder.

Yes, there is!

The people who say they are "officially leaving forever" are going to miss out a lot! Hopefully they don't actually mean that. I've seen people say they are officially leaving many times, yet they came back.

Mars explorer is not dead! Terrium is under active development, and it is going to be released soon, and Terrium is basically the same thing as Mars Explorer, just newer! Soon we will be playing Terrium, we'll have dogfights and stuff, explore, make new worlds, all that fun stuff!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright now. I have figured out what our situation here is and I have wrote all about it. Basically, Mars Explorer in its entirety is not dead because we have Terrium, but the game Mars Explorer itself is dead like it has been for almost 2 years already.

So, this thread is now resolved.
(Though not going to set state to resolved as I want it on the first page.)

"Yes, of couse he will close systems up here" Ehhh, don't be too sure because Aubrey's more a creative guy than a completion guy. He still hasn't fixed (Not Responding) ;)
