And ready to autoupdate...
Submitted By admin on 09/05/30
Mars Explorer, admin, Documents, Official News

Greetings everyone;

In response to yesterday's list server termination, 1.9.75 is now being released. Once you have played around with it for a bit and can verify that there are no glaring bugs, I will point the 1.9 autoupdater to it - and everyone can come and join us in the latest and greatest version ever!

Here's the main changes I have implemented since 1.9.7:
  • Default master list server is now the one run by me, with the alternate list server being Unity's standard one
  • Adjustable buggy flight agility
  • Much more consistent buggy physics at different game rendering levels
  • Simplified buggy wheels rotated correctly - Roflcopter
  • Fixed unresponsive player networking detection
  • Sorry, but no more impersonating Aubrey :)
  • Slightly smoother buggy walldriving and skipping off terrain
  • Server setting defaults no longer "stick" from your last played game - Igizmo
  • Server settings text field has been moved to the bottom of it's panel, and now always shows the latest "serialized" settings for you to edit, copy, or paste into
  • Tank track rotation locking and overall tank autoleveling tuned for utility and realism. The tank can still drive straight to top of any hill - but it now takes a bit more skill and strategy to prevent yourself from being "ratcheted" off the steepest cliff faces

-Aubrey

P.S. Sorry it took so long to get this released. I have been trying to upload it for hours, but my internet is practically offline right now... In fact, as of the time of this writing, the native windows and dashboard builds are still in my upload que - so they probably won't be available for download right away.

Thank you! I am rather exited, though players probably will not be pouring in until tomorrow, players get ready to boot! Don't boot on contact, try to teach, and make contact, there will be a major downpour of question, and criticism! Keep your cool people!

Back to thanking Aubrey, I pretty much derailed my own comment LOL!

Again thank you! This will be exiting! I apologize you are unable to do this the way you wished, but good luck!

Dear Aubrey,
So far, I see no glitches or anything with the server list as of now
Started a game, Ren467 joined, no alternate server list needed at all.

Thank you for finally giving us all a fair chance with the rendering settings and the buggy,
That was appreciated much, Thank you.

We found that the agility was great for dogfights, thank you!

Great Job on this Version,
I say it's ready for prime time aubrey
we have all the tools needed to help us become noob free
Plus, the server list going down most likely saw many of our noobs quit or leave

Great Job Aubrey, so far, no bugs have been found!

Sincerely - Dudeski

ok, found a glicth
When you join a game, you are automatically quarry on your screen
while to everybody else, you are not, and they are all quarry
It takes several rams to fix this
Aubrey, might want to check that out and fix it before primetime

^That happens sometimes, depends on how much you got shot, then if you join the same game you were shot in, your score can get a little screwy. It's been happening for a long time.

Welp, I gave it a test, didn't see anything.

OK! Now i take back the app being annoying..for now. But more importantly, The Worst bug i see is the server settings bug which i have posted about before-It still exists. To sum it up, Certain people in my server cant see the specific settings i have, i believe they only see the default settings. Its a bummer to reset everything. Thank you.

Baba, I had the same problem but I found out when ever I "refreshed server list" the list would go blank and so I tryed "comand/R" to reset the whole screen and it would reset but the server list was still blank, so finally I just closed the screen ( I was useing a widget) and then brote it up again and I finally got the server list, I've had to do that tons of times ('cause i keep forgetting that if i click "refresht server list" it blanks it )and it gives me the server list back! I hope I helped with your problem!

1: Not an issue: a comment:  you can drive up the lava in the volcano?!

2: i dont exactly remember the term.  basically it was limits for sanity.  they stop settings from going over what the bars can do.  TAKE THEM AWAY.  PLEASE?

Yeah, I am wondering what those energy(?)/plasma(?)/gas(?) rings(?) are..... Could they be the distance out that you can ram somebody/be hit by lasers?

Suggestion: For simplicity, why not just call it 1.9.8? That way we can get back on track to 2.0, as 1.9.75 is half way between 1.9.8, and 1.9.7 lol, it was just a half version called in emergency. Not even a beta, an alpha until it needed to be released...

I know I am a little late on bug reporting, but I thought it would be good to include this. When going into someone's server and they have all these funky physics set one decides they have had enough and starts their own. The physics from that other server are still remembered, they even register as "default" no matter how many times you click the "Default All" button. Also, sometimes physics are carried over separately.  I was in an "anti-gravity" server one time (Very annoying), I left, then, I joined FC's server, I was still in anti-gravity even while he was not. His physics were set completely different.

Hi Aubrey
insanity |inˈsanitē|nounthe state of being seriously mentally ill; madness he suffered from bouts of insanity [as complement he attempted to plead insanity.• extreme foolishness or irrationality it might be pure insanity to take this loan the insanities of our time.ORIGIN late 16th cent. : from Latin insanitas, from insanus (seeinsane ).
- Well It sounds like most good players I know... They fool around on Mar, which is highly irrational.

Could we please have some insanity brought back to this all to sane world of yours?
- Only as an option of course. *s*

Also, it would be cool if you added the option of limiting the numbers of players allowed on a server, so a host could play with a few players and not get flooded by random players all the time.
-My server sank into the ground when we were eight players, and none of us were able to play, so please give us the option of limiting the number of allowed players on our servers.
