I was wondering about there being npcs such as aliens in certain worlds in the future.
So that there could be missions and such to destroy, or capture them.
just a thought

this game obviously isn't going to be a destructive game.
idea = FAIL

correction: epic fail
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
i'm going to say failtacular: a fail so epic it's almost a win.

I never said it had to be aliens or destructive. Not in the least. That was one simple suggestion.
Just the missions thing was an idea. Mainly to be used if you don't have internet access at the time, but you still want to play, you would have something to do other than just drive around.

you said "missions and such to destroy, or capture them"
I think that is destructive
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
I think that non destructive missions would be a good thing. At the spawn cloud there could be a menu of missions.

Yeah, like, "Climb to top of volcano in 30 sec.", or "Shoot all checkpoints around the Lava Racer level" or maybe, "Ram the fleeing bot".
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
i did say that. you are correct.
notice the "or" in that phrase. plus i said that it didnt have to be destroying.
it could very well be to shoot stationary targets, or reach a certain point. youre trying to be to literal with the exact words that i said.

Mars Explorer 4 iPhone already has missions, and I have been discussing implementing them in the desktop version with MacDane.
So yes, someday this should be a reality...
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
I'd think the word "mission" should be "achievement" as the "missions" are more reminecent of achivements in other games.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
And maybe the achievements that you've earned would show up on somebody else's stats, so everybody else could see what you've earned.....
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
Like ranking? but then the peeps who didnt do "missions" would feel like total noobs... maybe
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
I didn't think about them.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
Yeah, of course you didn't think about other people. It's not like they're people who deserve thought.
I believe that at one point, part of the website said "Unlike most games, Mars
Explorer doesn't have a complicated set of objectives, an extraneous
story line, powerups to collect, timers to annoy you, monsters out to
get you, a slowly dwindling life meter"

this is true.
when you put it that way it makes me feel rather bad, and selfish.
I apologize if I came across that way.

I think he was just trying to be snide and quick tongued. Im sure you didn't mean it like 'N00bz suk!!!', You just meant you didn't think about how people would feel if they got a lower rank than other people, plus the people with higher ranks may brag to lower ranked people. You did nothing wrong, you just had an idea, dont take blame for it.

lol. mmk then.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
That was rude of me. I've just been in a bad mood latley. I'm very sorry.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
It's ok. We all have our days.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
Thats true, but I dont think missions should be incorporated with the game, sorry.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
Hey, that's fine by me. It was a random suggestion, anyways. The game is just as fun as it is.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
true enough
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
When I first started playing this game, there weren't many people. It was a basic game of laser tag. I would drive, fly, and have fun and even play follow the leader. To add this just takes the purpose of the game in my opinion. If there was to be something like this, there should be a 1 player marsxplr game. I would want this to be completely separate from the multi player game.
Kind regards,
Killerdude

I like it. I think Killerdude is right though, but why not add it as a world or different setting from the authentithingummy screen. That way, you can have missions, and nobody else gets in your way. Problem solved.
» Reply to CommentRe: missions in the future?
That could work.
