Note:

This post is the "Headquarters" of the creator system, so, please post any world ideas that you might have. Also, if you have mastered the system, please try to answer those world requests. Also, please continue to comment on features as they are added, and try out worlds created by other users.

Description:
I have recently been working on a martian world creator that does many things:

First of all, it allows users to create their own worlds out of blocks, by giving dynamic control over a person's view of the scene, and also giving complete control over XYZ scales, rotations, and positions.

Second of all, it features a well rounded publishing tool, that allows users to enter the name of their level, the description of their level (optional), the world scale of their level, and their name (optional). The system then publishes their world, along with the information given, to the internet!- Users will be sent the link to their world upon publishing. There is even a republish button, that adds "_v2" to the end of the name (And don't worry, instead of the name becoming "myworld_v2_v2_v2", it will just become "myworld_v4").

The system also allows you to save you work to our computer, instead of the web, saves back ups, AND comes equipped with an interactive in tutorial!

This is an extremely simple ramp world done with the web app:
http://www.geiodo.com/worlds/srw.utw

There are a few problems:

The system will not alert you if one of the following errors happens:

  • File too big (the maximum file size is rather large, and in fact probably larger than what mars is capable of importing.
  • File name all ready taken (To avoid this, it is suggested that you always put your name/initials after the name of the level (e.g. :myworld_FC))

Also, on my computer, if the world gets to be too big, publishing will cause a computer crash. I'm not sure if this happens on other's computers, but it does on mine. If this happens to you, PLEASE report it IMMEDIATELY!
Other than that, it is a pretty decent web app.

Recent Feature Additions:
"~ In offline version" means that the feature is in my copy, and not yet available.
"~ In display system" means that the feature is in the display system, not the creation system.
  • Mouse Editable values. ~ In offline version.
  • MAJOR FIX: Lag problem completely eradicated. :D It takes a while to import, save, load, and export if your world is too big, but in all the other areas, perfectly lag free! (Yup, Iron, I loaded your citadel, problem free - you can build on it for as long as you like - we could use some more of those chambers, and some ramps ;) ) ~ In offline version.
  • Advanced Camera Controls ~ In offline version.
  • Intro message, and default settings presets. ~ In offline version.
  • Upgraded importation. This upgrade paves the way for many kinds of objects, such as pyramids, and meshes, and also allows for user-code authentication - meaning that users can password-protect their worlds, and use that password to upload to the same name multiple times! ~ In offline version.
  • Mouse Scaling ~ In offline version
  • Three display modes, and "Seen" marking system added ~ In display system
  • In-Unity world display system created ~ In display system
  • Description, and user name inputs.
  • Up to 250 backups
  • The ability to save to your computer, instead of web.
  • Built in interactive tutorial.
  • Delete selected object
  • Importation
  • Re-publishing
  • Close button for publish window
Features In-The-Making:
Features planned:
"~ Pre-thinking concept" means that I am still developing the concept in my head.
"~ Very Soon" means that I have thought out the concept, and that the feature will be put into the next update, or the one after that.
  • Ability for users to edit their worlds ~ Very soon
  • Delete all objects ~ Very Soon
  • Snap-To-Grid ~ Pre-thinking concept
  • Multiple Object Selection ~ Pre-thinking concept
  • Snap-To-Other-Objects
User Created Worlds:
Featured Worlds:
Iron citadel - http://www.geiodo.com/worlds/iron_citadel.utw ~ Iron (Forge)
Cage Match - http://www.geiodo.com/worlds/cage_match.utw ~ Hellogoodbye
Athena Rome XI - http://www.geiodo.com/worlds/minerva_rome_xi.utw ~ Athena/Omega

Please be sure to comment every time there is an update! I want the up-to-date opinion on the system, as more features are added. Also, please feel free to post feature requests as well.

Also, please bam every once in a while, and please try out everyone's creations.

Well, the original one was broken, so I made this one, and put a redirect on the old one to this one.

The old one will always take you to this one, so technically, there is still only one HQ for the creator.

We have a little thing goin here! I am the vehicle designer, along with seb, of course. Dray is the terrain mastah (and also Iron Forge), FC is the untimateawesomeprogrammerdude, (Who has also done some vehicles, lets not forget that MOTO!), and Maccy is the awesome guy who also makes models for mars. It's the mars design group! :)

BTW! FC, I can work on your moto if you want, I noticed it has alot of shading errors, I can prolly fix that. (NOT SAYING THAT THE MODEL ISN'T GOOD QUALITY, HEH! just looking at those tiny errors. well, heck, those unity shaders will prolly cover up the errors anyway :P. Still, I can pick it up from there.

CLAWS ARE ON THE WAY FOR THE JET, THE STAR CRUISER IS IN THE GARAGE, AND THE BUGGY IS ON THE DRIVEWAY WIT DA KEYS IN IT! muhauhauha. I should probably get to the buggy by today.

There are limits:  object position: -20 to 500 Object Rotation: I am not sure but there are only 360 degrees in a full circle so who cares?  Object Scale: 0.1 to 300.  So far I have built worlds to these restrictions but I could make much wilder worlds if they were removed.  It may be harder to fix than one might think, though.  I have made programs myself, of course not like this, but I know that you can only have number go so high.

Oh, I've also fixed that crazy bug, where the tutorial did not automatically skip it's self.

Just trying to keep this thing up-to-date with the UTW format! ^^

Hi Flyclub. I just wanted to say that I like the world creator a lot, but one of the few things I don't like about it is the drift when you change the camera angle. It makes it very hard to get the angle where you want it. I think it would really help if you could add a checkbox somewhere that could turn it off, or something like that. Thanks.

I have been working on 3D axis representatives... When you increase position, or rotation, it always effects a global axis, but when you increase scale, it always effects a local axis.

Is it possible to make it so that you could click an up or down arrow to change the value, instead of having to delete and type again every time? That would be awesome! (Plus probably easier than making a click and drag arrows on each box.)

Also, would it be possible to get rid of the shading, or at least make object edges more defined? I can't se anything I'm editing. -PR P.S. Please try my world - http://geiodo.com/worlds/prsaircraftcarrier_3.utw Edit: http://geiodo.com/worlds/prsaircraftcarrier_5.utw *update*

I have an even better feature coming, drag-able values. Just hold the mouse in the box for about three sections ,then drag. :)

As for the edges thing... Ehhh, not so easy, but I'll see what I can do.

No, that's drag-able scaling.

There are many value boxes for positioning in the editor. If you hold down the mouse button on one of them for three seconds, then drag the mouse, while still holding the button, then it will change the value.

I have been working on mini worlds for my multiverse world, and one of the worlds is going to be a forest of spikes.  It would be much easier to do things like that if you could write mini programs to construct blocks in a rapid succession.  For example:  For my spiked forest, I would want something like: "Repeat 150 times: make new object position(x: (random 0 to 150) Y: 0 Z: (random 0 to 150) object rotation: (x: 0 y: 0 z: 0) object scale: (x: 0.1 y: (random 1 to 30) z: 0.1)" and it would make 150 spikes in random places in a 150 by 150 box with random heights 1 to 30.  Such a thing would also be useful for making complex geometric objects and other patterny things which would take too long to do by hand.

bam |bam|

exclamation

used to imitate the sound of a hard blow or to convey the abruptness of an occurrence : he'll have to make a dash for it, and when he does, bam, he's dead.

ORIGIN 1920s: imitative.
