Modifying our vessels
Submitted By MacDane on 09/10/29

With the new whirld system in mind, I got to think of our beloved vehicles.
-Would it be possible to make optional designs available for them too?

I would just love to take one of my own creations for a spin on Mars...

Maybe this little old critter of mine?

I think it would be difficult because every specific vehicle would need to be programed right?

Unless its just like giving it a new paint job, it may act like a buggy, but it looks like a monster truck.

I think this is still sometime in the future but i am looking forward to piloting those things of your Macky.

Well, if there were standard measurements, it would be like adding a paint job.

Say, a single user vehicle (like jet, buggy, tank and hover) should fit inside a box of a certain size in order to be used in the game.

Like this:
Vehicle measurements:
length 3-4m
height 1-2m
Width 3-4m

I am confident Aubrey could make this work.

Maybe there could be like a building block system, where you could choose between different components for your vehicle and combine them in different ways.

Just imagine what 5 different hulls, 5sets of wings, 5different intakes, exhausts, landing gears and canopies would make you able to create...

You could just choose what vehicle it would be, and then upload the model. That way if you really liked a sub model for example you could choose it as a jet and then put it in hover mode so that it would float under the lava.

I suggested this once also, and many others. The reasoning I got back for something like this not happening was that, say someone just makes a sort of T shape out of lines on sketchup. Imagine how crappy that would look? Plus you would never be able to hit it. I love this idea, but another addition to it: A minimum of 3D objects, lines, and faces?
