Hey everyone,

I myself am an avid blender user, and with the new release of Blender 2.5 Alpha 0, a lot more possibilities are open. Just want to know everyone's opinions of the software and of this release.

You can still use it to create worlds, though.

Well, the 64bit version wasn't complete yet, so I got the 32bit version.
But... I got  the 64bit version of Python, so the two can't talk to each other... oops.
so now Blender's GUI is hard to use, and the whole thing is almost impossible to use.

Any ideas?

The 2.5 GUI may take some time getting used to, but when you do you like it so much more. If having troubles, look for the "Where'd that button go?" tutorial on blendernation.

I love Blender, but have to admit that it the hardest modeling program for a beginner to learn that I have ever come across. After playing with 2.5 for a bit, it looks like the Blender team is really polishing up the GUI and user experience!

This is a highly commendable development, and I believe that it will directly benefit the Martian modeler community :)

Wow... I've had Blender on my laptop for almost three years now, and never knew what it was until now... And now I'm interested.

Is this the Mars Explorer App or Blender? If Mars Explorer, please ask elsewhere. If Blender, it could be the fact that 2.5 is still in Alpha 0.

You're welcome. Although I would recommend keeping 2.49 all the same, as there are a lot of features that 2.5 does not yet have, And I even came across a situation that 2.49 had a more beautiful render. But for lag control, 2.5 rocks.

Could you hide this post please? It has no real point anymore, although this information is very useful to some people, i.e. Flyclub.

I disagree, this post is still relevant, since 2.5 is still an alpha.
