anti sub

Here are some pictures of the Hydrofoil I've been building, as you can see it's not quite finished:

I know one foil is alot longer than the other and I haven't done the back foil but I haven't finished yet. when it's done it will have to jets coming out of the back each pointing outwards so that when you turn and the hydrofoil leans one of the jets will go into the water and push the back of the boat around the corner. If this was implemented into the game it would be kind of an anti-sub vehicle. It'd be fun if when playing capture the flag submarines had a certain weapon that could sink sea monsters, and that submarines would not show up on any vehicles mini map except the hydrofoils and no one could see their name tag. The Hydrofoil would have some sort of anti-sub weapon, what I was thinking was a laser that could fire only from 90 degrees up to 90 degrees down. The mouse would control the lean of the hydrofoil, either to the left or right, and the other controls would be A and D, A being the left jet and D the right. Then when the hydrofoil was shooting down at a sub, you would be turning the hydrofoil to shoot left or right, this way you would have a smoother firing platform and it would be easier to steer while shooting. The reason why I think these controls would be better is that when you are dogfight with someone in a buggy and your in laser tag mode, you can follow behind them and keep your laser more or less pointed forward, this allows you to still fly and not get disorientated. But it your in a Hydrofoil, your on top of the water and the sub can move up and down as while as left and right and you can't so your laser would not be mostly pointing forward. Also I think it would make the over all control much smoother.

Now to those of you who don't know what a hydrofoil is it is a boat with a sort of wing under it and when you reach a certain speed you lift up onto the the wings, bringing the hull out of the water and achieving enormous speeds. Here is a picture of a hydrofoil which was the fastest warship ever built, Her Majesties Canadian Ship Bras d'Or (and no that's not bra's) shown here:

HMCS Bras d'Or while foilborne

It was discontinued due to the Canadian Forces' shift away from anti submarine warfare.

I think that it would be fun to drive a hydrofoil around. It should have a max foil speed of 100 MPH and a max hull speed of about 30 MPH or so. If you like the idea but think someone more skilled should model it, I'm fine with that, I'd rather have a hydrofoil in the game that wasn't modelled by me than not one at all.

maybe a hull speed of 50 would be a bit better, but what would you do about land?

It sounds really cool! Still, i can't say I really want a boat on mars - The jet all ready servers that purpose, and we are to have a submarine soon as well.

I've smoothed it a bit and got rid of some of the lines that way. I used the soften/smooth thing, any other way I can do that?
