There are 2 versions of .dae recognized

1.4 and another (i'm not sure)

I think you need version 1.4

Then maybe try the 1.31. It can't hurt.

It might be easier to export an .obj file from Sketchup and load that into Blender/Unity. I have an .obj exporter script for Sketchup if you need it.

Well it also works to just get Sketchup Pro and then export .obj files directly to Unity.

If you download the free trial of sketchup pro, you have 8 hours to use it. I have exported at least 50 models and I'm still at 7.8. This is the easy way. The .obj exporter is actually kind of iffy.

I'll download the free trial for sketchup 8. :P The only thing wrong with the exporter is that it cannot handle very big or very complicated meshes.

Aww. I use this all the time. And I make big things. Many many comlex big things. Anyways, all you have to do is scale the model.

Calm down. I believe I have the link in there and yes it will be compatible with Unity 3. Unity 3 can directly import Wavefront (.obj) so its just export and import. No hassle.

Nice tutorial!
I take back what I said before about it not being able to handle very big or complicated meshes.

Although, I still think that the pro trial is a better way to export. The quality of the export is better. This one is very handy though.

I agree with you. Well for Mac it is! PlayUp is quite sufficient on Windows.

What is the "correct locations" spot for Playup? Give me a name please! Quickly!
PlayUp will not show up as a plugin even though I extracted it multiple times.
