People have complained about mods for the few months that we've been here but no one has ever brought a specific post to debate as to weather it should or shouldn't be up. My offer still stands unaccepted.
Also, most members have no idea what was accomplished my the mods during incredibly intense spam attacks on this site, we were that fast to hide that garbage. I suspect Aubrey finally cought the culprit. There was a hint afterward in a comment left by a formerly active member saying something like "I just want to be friendly and help make Mars better.".
That would be either FC's or my user comment mod code. All comments on the forum have to be removed using a javascript hack as there is no native feature to do so (Aubrey just hasn't gotten around to doing it).
Could you add a "go to last page" thing? That would be nice as I would like to see the first moderator actions ever without having to go through all 105 pages...
I believe Aubrey picked these specific people to be mods. because most of them were around since the day Mars Explorer was created. That means they have a lot of experience and wisdom for the forum and the game.
It's kinda hard to believe that they were once n00bs. lol
But if I were to recommend someone to Aubrey, it would be one of the CIC board members, including me.
Not quite. PointYBagelS was not there for all that long when he was instated as a mod (because ~5 months isn't really all that long). He registered around November 2009 and I think most other mods are registered since 2008.
Gotta ask if someone quits mars forever, does her get replaced. Or do they have a choise to quit. And is there a pole on the forum or get pmed or recommended. (lol i asked alot of questions sorry :P)
HAHAHA, I just realized my um, "mistakes" when I was making my latest thread all appeared here. I was VERY confused and Mars just didn't want to work. It was a frustrating time in my life.
How to access the moderator log on (almost) any Plexpedia site (except Plexpedia.com, because it does not have moderation). After the domain, enter "log". Example: lamp.plexpedia.com/log
Please make sure you have a slash (/) inbetween the domain and "log".
As much as I appreciate critques, I have to ask that you stop condecsending me.
I earned the title of moderator two years ago, I'm one of the original 10 moderators.
In short I know exactly what I'm doing, which also means I'm aware that I'm potentially upsetting people who like the old content. It's not my job to make friends by being a moderator, it's my job to keep the forum in a presentable state (something I currently deem it not to be in).
Thanks Lamp, but please check the tonality in your posts in the future.
Same with Nattyfrank on CC. He used to be a regular player asking questions like a newbie and stuff, using text informally. Now he is a mod and acts formal. He uses good grammar and always tries to stop fights.
Mods, please remember that, regarding posts in which a question was acknowledged as answered, Aubrey wants them to be set to Resolved "so they can be searched and found in the browsing system". Aubrey also stated that, sometime in the Syn3h era, he's considering converting this forum into an archive and he wants most content to be available to anyone that's interested in Mars history.
According to Aubrey, the Removed status is meant only for:
1 posts by recalcitrant members who re-boot their posts after a mod has closed it.
2 spam, vulgar, attack & pure junk
Also, "how do you make worlds???????????" is still a legit question, even though seasoned members know where to find the knowledge base.
