Expect an update sometime soon

QUeSTION -- What do people feel about me adding some turrets onto the ship? I know it is not what the game is about, but I don't know if that will be accepted in syn3h, or what. I think it will add some realism to the ship.
BAD NEWS AGAIN -- In syn3h beta 2, the floor issue is still there.
NO MORE BAD NEWS -- Floor issue resolved
FINISHED -- Final updates have been made. Bad news though... I was about to re-export it because there was a floor with martian texturing, but when I was switching back to the Star Titan project, it said my trial had expired even though before, it said that it would expire at midnight tonight. So sadly, it has a floor right in the middle of it.
LINK -- http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14979672/StarTitan_v3/Whirld.utw If you want to play an older version without the floor, here is the link to that - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14979672/StarTitan_v2/Whirld.utw
: (
FINAL TEXTURE CHANGES -- Almost done. I just have to make the jump points and position the base.
BACK TO MODELING AGAIN -- Making last minute changes to the mesh, and fixing reversed faces, then I will do the final export to unity and the final export. Final version out in 7 days!
DONE WITH MODELING -- Just need to export it, set up the textures, and I also want to UV map it so that you won't be able to see the divisions in the textures. Then I am done.
Bar of finished-ness:

I gave it a new post so the other one wouldn't be so laggy with tons of pictures. I decided on the name Star Titan.

NOTE: The texturing is just temporary; a placeholder!
The texturing will be somewhat like the sky king's.
Sky king is included in link for a size comparison.

So is the SketchUp pro tutorial worth it? Does it export textures as well?
I really want to export this...
Oh, and to reduce lag, simply embed a slideshow or better yet, post a link for the slideshow.

Honest Evaluation
3 days - 10,293v
Posted 2011/01/06 - 2:42 GMT
Okay so I tested the link. Gub, may I say what fantastic design the Titan has. Although I could say the style is a bit in the Sky King category! I like your inclusion of many elements that made this craft an indeed Titan. My personal favorite was the wide open interior (again, King style!) and many "skylights" or open windows. Although there were a few glitches and a few missing colliders here and ther, I quite enjoyed the trek. I do have a few requests though:
  • Please change the spawn point position!
  • Add some interior lighting, lighting always makes a closed space look bigger, and more friendlier (unless you intended a grim view)
  • And a cool feature I though of, why not include exterior suspended tracks. For zipping along in a ORB, synthesizing the sense of being a repair bot on a routine mission.
Above all, I enjoyed the beta release of the Star Titan and hope that others will enjoy it as well. My overall rating is: ★★★★☆. Yeah the one star missing i for realism. My apologies for being a harsh judge... But hey that is some really beast work and you should be proud of it!

Thanks for your comment!

The spawn position and the Sky King were just beta things, and will be removed from the final version.  (In the case of the spawn point it will just be moved.)

After I exported it I realized I forgot to give colliders to tons of the stuff. I like that it has skylights too! ;)

As for the lighting, I think it will seem much different when the normal texture for the interior is whitish and not so dark and gloomy. XD

Great idea about the exterior tubes! Will do! Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestions and compliments Geek!

My opinion is that it doesn't matter what the FPS is like (I get < 3 on fastest on most mesh worlds), as long as the world is worth me putting my time into going to (which in this case it is).
Mars complains that there's a syntax error when I copy-paste the link, you might want to check it out.

So, the final version is out. Although the ship is textured and many bugs were fixed. I liked the architecture style of the ship, although it did resemble the Sky King somewhat. I congratulate Gub and others on creating a fine realm that all can enjoy. 4.5/5.0
(Still missing colliders in some places)
And I miss the tubes. Oh well, the couches and the TVs make up for it! If I could really go on this ship in real life, I definitely would!

This one should work...
Before trying out a new custom world, to check if it's available, go to the URL and if it says "404 dropbox error" or something then you'll get a "Syntax Error" and if it doesn't get an error then it should work...
