Prologue

---

James Evans,

The SYN3ÆH Space Exploration and Colonization Project is pleased to say that your application has been reviewed and you have been accepted into our space exploration program, effective October 31, 2382.  You are requested at the SYN3ÆH terrestrial headquarters in Dubai on this date, for further assessment by our training team so that we may assign you to the job that will best fit you, and give you the appropriate training for that position.  We will be providing a shuttle for you to get there most efficiently, seeing as you live rather far from our headquarters.  Attached you will find an identification badge, which you must bring for admittance both onto our shuttle, and into our main building.  We look forward to seeing you there.

-SYN3H Recruitment Team

---

James could barely stand up with excitement.  He had wanted to work for the SYN3ÆH Project pretty much since the first time he had heard about it.  He had always been the kind of person who liked to explore things, and space was his logical next step.  While certainly not the only company that did most of their work off not on planets, SYN3ÆH was on the cutting edge, having been in the business for over 90 years, being the main force behind the initiative to colonize mars, and more recently, the outer solar system as well.  But while all this was great work, and certainly something James would want to be a part of, his true goal was to be a part of SYN3ÆH’s newly created Interstellar Division.  For now though, he would just have to wait and see, considering he had only passed through the first layer in getting to where he wanted to be.

James wondered what his family would think, when they heard the news, this had always been his ambition, but he did not know how they would feel about him essentially spending what would likely be years at a time off of his home planet “Sol b” (or Earth, but in an interstellar society, planets would likely go by their scientific names).  Not that their opinions could really make a difference.  There was nothing that could stop him from going through with it at this point.

It was, most of all, just a great thing knowing that all his hard work had paid off, he went through 6 years of University to study in the field of Space Exploration, and now that he had made it, hi felt nothing but a sense of accomplishment.  He immediately went to pack his things, seeing as the shuttle would be there the next morning.

To Be Continued…

------

So what do you think?

Obviously the fun is yet to start, but I have a lot planned for this concept and hope to write more of these in the future.

If you want to be featured in the story, post in the comments about it, and what you would like your character to do, and I will see if I can fit it in.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you will enjoy reading future installments.

PS.  Obviously it is very short, but that is because it is just the prologue, and the place that I ended it seemed a good place to end a prologue.

Yeah, glad you like it so far, but i assure you the best is yet to come.

Shame about the theta character, I figured i needed to include it in order to be official about it...

Guess HTML or CSS or whatever does not recognize it, nothing I can do I guess.
I'm gonna keep it there anyway though.

The HTML for Theta is:

&Theta

Eample:Θ
To fix the problem, use the text and replace all the theta characters with it.

Looks like it has tons of potential! Can't wait for the next part!

Do the characters have to be humans?

Cool story, well written. I like it. Except for the title.

As I am writing the SYN3H Chronicles, which is formatted in exactly the same way as your title, then it seems as if the two series are somehow connected. Which they are not.

So it would be very much appreciated if you could please subtly change your title to something a little different to my story - admit it: do these look similar?

The SYN3H Chronicles: Awakening
The SYN3H Project: Prologue

Most people could think that these were sister series.

Please don't take it the wrong way - I like the story a lot, and I'm sure your story will be very popular, it's just that I feel that this name sort of is my domain, and yours is remarkably similar, far too similar.

Thank you, and keep up the great work!

In all honesty, the titles will be looking a little different in future versions, when I get the time to write them.

something like The SYN3H Project Part 1: (something will go here that is longer than the one word titles you like to use)

uhh, i guess if you still dont like it, well, idk.
I've always been terrible at naming things.
